Her name speaks for itself. Librada Paz is a defender of the dignity of immigrant farmworkers in the United States. She has left her indigenous community in Southern Mexico at the age of 15, eventually ending up in New York working on the fields and picking vegetables and fruits. Having experienced the harsh conditions of immigrant workers in the field herself, Librada Paz became a passionate advocate of and leading voice for immigrant farmworkers in the United States.
