China – An Example to Follow? Strengths and Strains of Efficient Governance
🗓️ Monday, October 6, 16:30–18:00
📍 University of Zurich, Main Building (KOL-F104)
🍷 Followed by an Interactive Q&A Session and Networking Apero
We have secured very renowned speakers for this discussion:
- Prof. Dr. Ralph Weber (University of Basel)
- Prof. Dr. Jean Christopher Mittelstädt (University of Zurich)
- Bernardino Regazzoni (former Swiss ambassador to China)
- Nico Luchsinger (Director, Asia Society Switzerland)
While many European countries struggle with bureaucracy and slow decision-making, China often presents itself as highly efficient: decisions appear quick, consistent, and effective, especially in times of crisis. But how does this governance really work, and what can we learn from it?
Together with leading experts, we will discuss the strengths and strains of China’s governance—critically, openly, and from political, economic, societal, and academic perspectives.
The panel is open to everybody and absolutely free of charge.
