In order to support its Mediation Program, swisspeace is looking for an

Intern Mediation (100%)

Starting date: 01 March 2025 or by agreement 
Duration: 6 months 
Gross salary per month: CHF 1,500
Place of work: Basel, Switzerland

Your tasks
  • Supporting swisspeace’s work on Syria,
  • Contributing to swisspeace activities in the framework of the Mediation Support Project,
  • Contributing to mediation training courses run by swisspeace,
  • Drafting and editing reports,
  • Supporting the organization and coordination of events,
  • Providing administrative and logistical support to the swisspeace Mediation Program.
Your profile
  • BA (higher degrees will not be accepted) in political science, international relations, social sciences, or related disciplines,
  • Excellent spoken and written English and good command of Arabic.
  • Knowledge of MENA contexts is an asset,
  • Good drafting skills,
  • Affinity for coordination and administrative tasks,
  • Organizational talent, ability to work independently and proactively,
  • Willingness and availability to travel to locations in the MENA region and Europe.

Due to the Swiss regulations on the admission of foreign workers, only applicants with an existing Swiss work permit or citizenship of Switzerland or of an EU/EFTA state can be considered for this internship position.
