The Fundamentals of Negotiation Workshop
09:00-16:00, 3-4 October 2024
Negotiation is an essential skill which we use in all aspects of our lives, it is also one of the main tools for settling in international conflicts. Though we each have our own instinctive approach to negotiation, even the most experiences diplomats and politicians rarely take the time to reflect upon how we could do things differently to secure more satisfactory and sustainable outcomes. Truly mastering the negotiation process takes training and practice with continual reflection to identify areas for improvement. In this two day workshop, led by Dr. Jack Williams and Prof. Dr. Stefanie Walter, students will be introduced to the fundamental theory and practice of negotiation and have the chance to practice their own skills through interactive exercises and simulations. The workshops is organised by the Chair of International Relations and Political Economy at the University of Zurich in collaboration with the Institute for Global Negotiation. Students will receive a certificate confirming their successful participation at the end of the workshop.
There are a very limited number of spots available for UZH students to join so please register via the link. Spots will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
